Heinz Wagner Traditional - Bottle

Pale straw with lemon balm and earthy undertones on the nose, the palate is crisp and clean with citrus lift and a dry, chalky finish that adds structure.

German sparkling wine made in the traditional method is known as Winzer-Sekt. Max Wagner reinvigorates the old craft with a simple, effervescent vision: to savor the joy of sharing a moment together. With Heinz Wagner Sekt, Max seeks to guide the conversation away from technical aspects of wine and to something deeper. His philosophy on Sekt is rather simple: “Sparkling wine is not about looking into the glass, it’s about looking into people’s eyes. It’s about connecting. With bubbles, there’s an occasion that brings people together. So to me, it’s Heinz Wagner, to joy!”

Don’t be fooled though, Heinz Wagner Sekt is made with expertly cultivated grapes farmed by the winemaker Max Greiner. Max Greiner’s vineyards are certified to the highest degree of German sustainability. His tender vigilance with the vines expresses itself through these delightful and distinct low-intervention wines made in the Black Forest.

Max Wagner brings years of experience as a vermouth producer. He steers the brand Heinz Wagner Sekt while working closely with Max Greiner throughout the winemaking process. The two share a mutual love of the Black Forest and a passion for wines that bring people together. The delicious non-alcoholic selection offered by Heinz Wagner Sekt ensures that there’s a glass for everyone at the table.

Tradition stands at Heinz Wagner for an aging time of a minimum of 12-month bottle aging.

Every step of production is made on-site. 14 months on the lees, traditional bottle fermentation, hand-riddled and disgorged, labeled, and prepared for release. As is typical for HEINZ WAGNER, this is exclusively Pinot Noir (60%) and Chardonnay (40%). Brut Nature with perfect grip without provocative acidity, and a real pleasure to drink.

Il Palazzotto Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba Bottle

The reason Paolo Olivero’s Dolcetto is so exceptional is that it comes from one of the best growing sites for Dolcetto in the region, a high-elevation, sunny hilltop in the commune of Diano in the Barolo DOCG. Crisp red fruit and a peppery violet perfume come together in this hydrating and grippy rosso, which would match with anything from red sauce dishes to tender grilled meats.

Lubanzi Sparkling Rose NV - Can

Lubanzi 2021, 250ml Rose Bubbles in a Can (100% Cinsault – Swartland, S Africa)

There is minerality and balanced acidity on the palate, with notes of wild cherries & ripe summer strawberries. (Fair Trade and Fair For Life Certified). We love Cinsault and nobody does it as a 100% varietal, so we were so pleased to find one from somewhere as surprising as South Africa. Don’t be put off by the can, this works surprisingly well.
