The Ferraton Père et Fils 'Calendes' Crozes-Hermitage 2016 is a medium-plus-bodied red wine from France, celebrated for its complex blend of ripe dark berry, underbrush, blueberry, black raspberry, and earthy notes, complemented by hints of smoke and burnt sugar. This well-regarded wine, with its balance of fruitiness and mineral midpalate, has received ratings around 89 to 92 out of 100 from critics, making it a rich and intense choice for wine enthusiasts.

Pale pink with strawberry, raspberry, and apple on the nose, the palate is fresh and fruity with gentle bubbles and a juicy finish that pairs beautifully with dessert or fruit dishes.

The reason Paolo Olivero’s Dolcetto is so exceptional is that it comes from one of the best growing sites for Dolcetto in the region, a high-elevation, sunny hilltop in the commune of Diano in the Barolo DOCG. Crisp red fruit and a peppery violet perfume come together in this hydrating and grippy rosso, which would match with anything from red sauce dishes to tender grilled meats.

This warm climate white wine speaks of the sunlight and warmth of California's Central Coast.  Its bright lychee and tart tropical fruits are balanced by its acidity on the mid-palate, tailed by a lingering apricot finish.  This clean, crisp white wine is aged in stainless steel to showcase the bright fruit and natural acidity of Pinot Grigio. 

Lubanzi 2020, 355ml Can (Shiraz, Grenache, Mourvèdre – Swartland, S. Africa)    

An old-school Rhone blend with contemporary style, we make this wine to showcase the red champion of South Africa, shiraz. Black fruit and spice with barley sugar, lemon iced tea, and hints of cracked black pepper. Deliciously floral, fruity, and earthy. (Fair Trade and Fair For Life Certified). We are so surprised how much canned wine has come! A solid red blend in a handy can, lovely with your lunch.

Lubanzi 2021, 250ml Rose Bubbles in a Can (100% Cinsault – Swartland, S Africa)

A unique sparkling rosé fizzing with a light, airy effervescence similar to prosecco. Dry, crisp & refreshing, with a bouquet of aromatics and a brilliant pale pink color. There is minerality and balanced acidity on the palate, with notes of wild cherries & ripe summer strawberries. (Fair Trade and Fair For Life Certified). We love Cinsault and nobody does it as a 100% varietal, so we were so pleased to find one from somewhere as surprising as South Africa. Don’t be put off by the can, this works surprisingly well.

This a tribute to the artisan grape growers and tile makers of northern Portugal. This wine showcases the Alvarinho grape, capturing the taste of coastal Portugal in every sip. It's a "farm-to-table" wine, sourced from old vines planted near the Minho River, located in the villages of Monção and Melgaço. Vibrant and balanced, with aromas of creamy citrus oil, lime, yellow apple, spices, saline, floral underpinnings. The mouthfeel is delicate and refreshing. This wine pairs well with grilled octopus, fried calamari, ceviche and creamy cheeses. 

Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier from Champagne, France.

This wine has a subtle, pale gold color with fine, persistent bubbles. It is delicate, with aromas of peach, white flowers, vanilla pod, and brioche on the nose and flavors of fresh fruit and honey on the palate. The bouquet on the wine is lovely, offering a classy blend of pear, apple, a complex base of limestone soil, bread dough, gently musky, meunier floral tones and a bit of smokiness in the upper register. On the palate the wine is bright, full and zesty, with fine mid-palate depth, youthful acids, frothy mousse and very good length and grip on the still quite primary finish. 

This luscious wine has a dense ruby with some brick color to it, a nose of satsuma plum and red currant with cinnamon and blackberry cordial notes. The taste is full of ripe black fruits, jammy with chocolate and raspberry leaf flashes, warm and opulent.  One of Tim and my favorites, lovely color. Opulent is the right word!

 Village Pinot Blanc. Elegant, flinty. You can taste the limestone!  Germany can do more than Riesling and this is a great representation of it.
