Spring 2020 brought lockdowns and heavy rain, followed by a long hot Summer. Our vines thrived, producing beautiful fruits that was ripened by some of the highest temperatures ever recorded in this region. Blackcurrant and black cherry notes, a touch of spice, and gentle tannins make this a versatile and easy drinking red Bordeaux blend.

Blackcurrant and black cherry notes, a touch of spice, and gentle tannins make this a versatile and easy drinking red blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot. Grown at our home and harvested by us by hand on October 16, 2020, on our tiny 3/4 of an acre backyard vineyard.

This fruit was sourced from the celebrated Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara AVA, and grown on the Tommy Town Thoroughbreds farm. The wine delivers black cherry, blackberry and plum flavors, accompanied by perfectly matched acidity that keeps the wine fresh and punchy. We can imagine this pairing perfectly with grilled vegetables, especially charred poblano peppers, or a flavorful mushroom risotto cooked with plenty of butter and served with fresh sage leaves.

This delicious wine is made with 100% Petite Sirah fruit grown exclusively at a tiny, private vineyard in the Arroyo Grande Valley. This wine combines deep, dark and intense blackberry flavors with licorice and spice. Probably the biggest, boldest wine in our portfolio, it is a real powerhouse. With bold tannins and rich fruit, this wine should be paired with food with strong flavors. It's an excellent complement to pizza with rich toppings or char-grilled foods. 

From the left bank in the Bordeaux region, Chateau Sissan’s 2020 is terrific for the price. Made from the gravel-rich terroir in the zone, the rich and savory red is made from from merlot and cabernet sauvigon. With a score of 93 from England’s top wine magazine Decanter: ”Seductive nose of hedgerow fruits with subtle plum notes. Silky and voluptuous style, big-boned and full-bodied with a great fruit core.”

Domaine Dozon is located south of Chinon, on the left bank of the Vienne. Originally a traditional livestock and produce farm, they turned to viticulture with the acquisition of the 14 ha Clos du Saut au Loup in the early 20th century. Eric Santier, a Chinon native, purchased the Domaine in 2013 from Laure Dozon, with help from the esteemed Baudry family, for whom he had worked. Some of the older, less desirable barrels were discarded, replaced with fiberglass tanks and Santier now seeks to make more pure and fresh expressions of wine from his village. This is clean, mindful traditional winemaking at its best

Vibrant purple color. Traditional notes of plum, raspberries and blackberries abound. Ripe tannins and attractive herbal notes underscore the abundant fruitiness of the Cabernet Franc. The long, full-flavored finish makes this wine most enjoyable with roast meats and savory game dishes. 

The Domaine Fouet Buvons Des Fruits is a vibrant red wine crafted from the Cabernet Franc grape variety in the Saumur region. This wine exudes a medium body with a lively acidity that dances on the palate. The fruit intensity shines through prominently, offering a delightful experience for those who appreciate red wines with a fruity profile. The tannins are notable, adding structure and depth to each sip, while the dryness level is perfectly balanced, enhancing the overall drinking pleasure of this exquisite wine. Domaine Fouet Buvons Des Fruits is a true gem from the Saumur region, showcasing the best characteristics of Cabernet Franc grapes.

The Ferraton Père et Fils 'Calendes' Crozes-Hermitage 2016 is a medium-plus-bodied red wine from France, celebrated for its complex blend of ripe dark berry, underbrush, blueberry, black raspberry, and earthy notes, complemented by hints of smoke and burnt sugar. This well-regarded wine, with its balance of fruitiness and mineral midpalate, has received ratings around 89 to 92 out of 100 from critics, making it a rich and intense choice for wine enthusiasts.

The reason Paolo Olivero’s Dolcetto is so exceptional is that it comes from one of the best growing sites for Dolcetto in the region, a high-elevation, sunny hilltop in the commune of Diano in the Barolo DOCG. Crisp red fruit and a peppery violet perfume come together in this hydrating and grippy rosso, which would match with anything from red sauce dishes to tender grilled meats.

Lubanzi 2020, 355ml Can (Shiraz, Grenache, Mourvèdre – Swartland, S. Africa)    

An old-school Rhone blend with contemporary style, we make this wine to showcase the red champion of South Africa, shiraz. Black fruit and spice with barley sugar, lemon iced tea, and hints of cracked black pepper. Deliciously floral, fruity, and earthy. (Fair Trade and Fair For Life Certified). We are so surprised how much canned wine has come! A solid red blend in a handy can, lovely with your lunch.

Sourced primarily from the sustainably farmed Presqu'ile Vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley. Fruit-forward and vibrant with fresh pomegranate, sage and rose petal, followed by flavors of strawberry,cranberry and sandalwood on the palate – all wrapped in a silky tannin structure.  Long, vibrant finish with lingering fruit and minerality, accented by cardamom and white pepper.

This luscious wine has a dense ruby with some brick color to it, a nose of satsuma plum and red currant with cinnamon and blackberry cordial notes. The taste is full of ripe black fruits, jammy with chocolate and raspberry leaf flashes, warm and opulent.  One of Tim and my favorites, lovely color. Opulent is the right word!
